Ruth5 Whitney (Daniel4, John3, John2, John1), daughter of Daniel4 and Susanna (Curtis) Whitney, was born 5 Dec 1718, Roxbury, MA,[1] and died after 1771

Ruth married, 14 Apr 1742, Boston, MA, John Decoster,[2] son of John and Elizabeth (Carver) Decoster. He was born 18 Jan 1722/3, Boston, MA, and died perhaps before 1753, definitely before 1769.

Children of John and Ruth5 (Whitney) Decoster, both born Boston, MA:

i. Ruth Decoster6, b. 5 Dec 1742; bapt. 19 Jun 1743, Roxbury, MA; m. 29 Aug 1771, Boston, MA, Alexander McKay.
ii. John Decoster, b. 14 Mar 1743/4; bapt. 18 Mar 1743/4, Roxbury, MA; poss. the Capt. John Decoster who d. 28 Jan 1773, aged 26 years [sic], bur. Granary Burial Ground, Boston, 1 Feb 1773.
iii. Esther Decoster, bapt. 25 Jul 1752, King's Chapel, Boston, MA.
