Samuel⁶ Whitney (Isaac⁵, Jason⁴, Mark³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Isaac⁵ and Susanna (Turnback)(Hall) Whitney, was born 9 Jul 1811, Middlesex, NY, and died 26 Apr 1889, Macomb, MI. He was buried in Clinton Grove Cemetery, Clinton, MI.^[1]

He married, 21 Apr 1836, Macomb, MI, Ann Stroup, daughter of George and Susanna (Riegel) Stroup. She was born 5 Mar 1819, Fayette, NY. and died 2 Jan 1901, Clinton, MI. She was buried in Clinton Grove Cemetery, Clinton, MI.^[2]

He was born in Middlesex, Ontario Co., NY, now Potter, Yates Co. He migrated to Michigan in 1834, settling in Detroit, where he resided for two years going then to a farm at Macomb, which he purchased of the government, where he ever after resided. He resided Macomb, MI.
