Seymour Murray8 Whitney (Erastus7, Mason6, Micah5, James4, John3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Erastus7 and Betsy (Chadwick) Whitney, was born 16 Jan 1829, Philadelphia, NY, and died 26 Aug 1900, Lynn, MA, aged 71 years 7 months 5 days, of catarrhal gastritis.[1]

He married, 31 Dec 1868, Atlanta, GA, Sarah Jane Barry, daughter of Charles Moore and Elizabeth (Patton (Crook) Barry. She was born 2 Jun 1838, Summerville, GA, and died 8 Jan 1924, Augusta, GA.
