Stephen6 Whitney (Phineas5, Isaac4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Phineas5 and Anna (Morton) Whitney, born 23 Sep 1771, Gorham, ME,[1] and died 6 Oct 1820.

Marriage intentions were published 5 Jan 1800, Limington, ME, for him and Ruth Boody.[2] He married, 26 Jan 1800, Limington, ME, Ruth Boody, daughter of Rev. Robert and Margaret (Hill) Boody. She was born 13 Jun 1779, New Durham, NH,[3] and died 1823. The marriage information is from "Early Families of Limington, Maine", by Robert L. Taylor. According to this source, Stephen and Ruth removed to Painted Post, Steuben Co., NY.

vi. Peter Whitney,[8] b. 14 Dec 1811, ME; m. Laura S. Farley.
vii. Jane Whitney,[9] b. 9 Nov 1813, CT; d. 1839, St. Joseph Co., MI; m. Henry Strait Weaver, b. 26 Mar 1813, son of Daniel Wing and Amy (Underhill) Weaver. He m.(2) 15 Mar 1840, Mary Ann Farley, daughter of Benjamin and Harriet Electa (Nims) Farley. Her sister Laura m. Peter Whitney, Jane Whitney's brother. Jane and Henry had no children.
viii. Mary Whitney,[10] b. ca. 1820, prob. Painted Post, Steuben Co., NY; d. after 1852, MI; m. ca. 1837 Andrew Hogmire, b. 8 Nov 1814, MD, son of Samuel and Elizabeth (Raun) Hogmire. They had seven children.
ix. Sally Ann Whitney,[11] b. Oct 1822, NY; d. after 1920, NY; m. 1840. Hiram Cook Hoag, b. Dec 1817, Macedon, NY, son of Benjamin and Anna (Smith) Hoag. They had six children.
