He married 25 Aug 1864, Douglas County, Illinois, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Jeffries, daughter of William and Ruth (Johnson) Jeffries. She was born 12 Sep 1845, Fayette County, Ohio, and died 11 Dec 1917, Omaha, Nebraska.
