Timothy6 Whitney (Moses5, Timothy4, John3, John2, John1), son of Moses5 and Rebecca (Hyde) Whitney, was born 12 Feb 1746/7 (twin), Newton, MA,[1] and "Mr." died 5 Dec 1821, Newton, MA.[2]

He married 4 Mar 1773, Newton, MA, Mary Hyde,[3] daughter of Elisha and Mary (Knapp) Hyde. They were third cousins by common descent from John2 Whitney. She was born 20 Nov 1753, Newton, MA, and died 17 Oct 1834, Newton, MA, aged 81 years.[4]

He served in the Revolutionary army in a Newton company with his three brothers. He resided Newton, MA.

On 1 Mar 1824, Newton, MA, an administration account was recorded. On 2 Nov 1824, Newton, MA, Mary Whitney, widow of Timothy Whitney, late of Newton, yeoman, a pensioner of the United States at the rate of $24.00, petitioned that Abijah Draper of Roxbury be appointed administrator of his estate. On 9 Nov 1824, Newton, MA, Abijah Draper of Roxbury was appointed administrator of the estate of Timothy Whitney, late of Newton, yeoman, deceased, and posted bond with Mary Whitney and Timothy Whitney, both of Newton, as sureties. On 1828, Newton, MA, his inventory was taken by Noah King, Thaddeus Hyde, and Thomas Richardson, all of Newton.
