William Elijah⁹ Whitney (Lemuel Griffith⁸, Joseph⁷, Lemuel⁶, Joshua⁵, Nathaniel⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), son of Lemuel Griffith⁸ and Catherine Elizabeth (Conrow) Whitney, was born 1 Nov 1835, Springfield, VT (also recorded as Henryville, Canada), and died after 1880.

He married, 25 May 1874, Burlington, VT, Emma Almira Payn, of Burlington, daughter of Simeon Webster and Almira (Perkins) Payn.^[1] She was born 15 Aug 1841, Shelburne, VT, and died after 1880.

He resided 98 Pearl St., Burlington, VT.
