William Galen Whitney (William), son of William and Anna (Lakin) Whitney, was born 16 Sep 1807, Pepperell, MA,[1], and died 6 Jul 1880, Concord, NH, aged 72 years 9 months 20 days, of internal injuries.[2]

He married firstly, 31 Dec 1833, Concord, NH, Nancy R. Frye.[3] She was born about 1805 and died between 1870 and 1872.

He married secondly, 6 Nov 1872, Concord, NH, Susan H. (-----) Jones. She was born about 1807, Lunenburg, MA, and died after 1880.

i. James K. Whitney, b. 17 Aug 1835, Concord, NH; d. 3 Oct 1906, Hooksett, NH, aged 71 years 2 months 16 days, of accidental drowning; m. 17 Aug 1876, Sharon, VT, Frances E. Wiggins, dau. of Charles and Lucinda (Preston) Wiggins, b. ca. 1837, Cambridge, MA.[4]
ii. Joseph G. Whitney, b. ca. Jan 1838, NH; d. 14 Dec 1879, Concord, NH, aged 41 years 11 months, of typhoid pneumonia;[5] m. bef. 1870, Laura E. -----.
iii. Susan M. Whitney, b. ca. 1841, Concord, NH; d. 30 Dec 1936, Concord, NH; m. 25 Oct 1862, Concord, NH, James William Moore, b. ca. 1840, Pembroke, NH, son of James Webster and Lydia (Ames) Moore.[6]
