William H.⁸ Whitney (Amos⁷, Jonathan⁶, (prob.) Jonathan⁵, Samuel⁴, John³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Amos⁷ and Hannah (?Doane?) Whitney, was born about 1839, probably Kirkland, ME, and died after 1880.

He married Helen Mann, daughter of Joel and Orinda (-----) Mann. She was born about 1844, ME, and died after 1870.
