William Henry8 Whitney (Isaac7, Jacob6, Abraham5, Abraham4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Isaac7 and Marcia J. (Barclay) Whitney, was born 18 Sep 1840, Stow, MA,[1] and died 14 Jul 1913, Concord, MA, of cerebral hemorrhage. He was buried in Brookside Cemetery, Stow, MA.[2]

He married, 7 Jan 1872, Boston, MA, or Stow, MA, Josephine Swain Osgood, daughter of John T. and Laura J. (-----) Osgood.[3] She was born 7 Jun 1850, Meredith or Laconia, NH.

He was born in Stow on the farm purchased by his father, Isaac, where he is now residing, and where he has always lived with the exception of two years, when he was in Delaware and following the sea; resided Stow, MA.

v. Alice Ruth Whitney, b. 18 Aug 1881, Stow, MA;[11] d. 1923; buried Brookside Cemetery, Stow, MA.[12] Child:
