Edmund Witney, parentage unknown but probably a grandson of Richard and Mary (Dimmock) Witney, born circa 1790, England, died 16 Jun 1842, Pownall Fee, Wilmslow Parish, Cheshire, England, about age 52, of pneumonia.

He married, 31 May 1818, West Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England, Mary Seymour. She was born about 1798, England, died 23 Dec 1843, Pownall Fee, Wilmslow Parish, Cheshire, England, the cause of death was Tubercular Phthisis (Consumption), which she had for several years.

He was a turner of rollers in cotton manufacturing.
