Hello!

My family would appreciate any help that anyone can offer about our heritage. We hit a road block in our Noles heritage and asked my uncle to take a Ydna test. This revealed, to our surprise, that we likely are Whitney descendants. At some point in history, a male Whitney fathered a son that was raised as a Knowles/Noles. We would love to solve this mystery. We have traced our "Noles"/Whitney line to Captain Leo Noles, b. 1829, in Perry County, Oh. Leo reports in one census that his father was born in NY and his mother in PA.

If anyone has any advice or thoughts , please don't hesitate to let us know!!
