She married 6 Dec 1832, Virginia (now W Virginia), '''Peter Johnston''', son of Rev James A and Hannah (DeMoss) Johnston. He was born 28 Feb 1809, Harrison County, Ohio, and died 7 Jan 1899, Decatur County, Iowa.

According to his obituary, Peter and Comfort were the parents of 12 children. One young male (aged 0-5) was listed on 1840 census, but not found in later census records. Nine children are known from later census records.
