Revision as of 14:03, 18 August 2011

Clark Whitney, parentage unknown, was born about 1807, VT, and died after 1860, but apparently before 1870.

Intentions of marriage were published, 31 Jan 1830, Attleborough, MA, for him and Emeline Bates.[1] She was born sometime between 1808 and 1818, according to her age on various censuses, and died after 1880. Possibly she was the Emiline Bates, daughter of James and Hannah (Walker) Bates, born 16 Aug 1812, Pembroke, MA (since she named her oldest son James).

Children of Clark and Emeline (Bates) Whitney:

i. James Whitney, b. ca. 1832, MA.
ii. Mary Whitney, b. ca. 1834, NY.
iii. Abigail H. Whitney, b. ca. 1837, NY; m. Hiram J. Buck.
iv. Charles H. Whitney, b. ca. 1840, NY.
v. Harriet Whitney, b. ca. 1842, NY.
vi. George W. Whitney, b. ca. 1844, NY.
vii. Josephine Whitney, b. ca. 1848, NY.
