Family:Whitney, Otis (1786-1885)

Otis⁷ Whitney (Nathan⁶, Jonathan⁵, Jonathan⁴, Jonathan³, Benjamin², John¹), born Conway, Massachusetts, 19 Oct 1786; married 1 Mar 1815, at Seneca, New York, Betsey Hawley; born 10 Sep 1795; died Jan. s9, 1877. He was born in Conway, Massachusetts, and when six years of age moved with his parents to Seneca Castle, New York, to which place they were among the first pioneers. In 1831, with his wife, he united with he Presbyterian church, and for over fifty years was one of the elders. He was a most valued cou sellor to his pastor and the session, wise, prudent and thoughtful, discreet and charitable. He died 25 Jan 1885; resided Seneca Castle, New York.

iii.	Julian Ann Whitney, born 5 Oct 1817; married 12 May 1841, Tyler H. Abbey; resided Watkins, New York. He was born 8 May 1815. Ch.: Norman Whitney, born 25 Jun 1842; unm.; Harvey Smith, born 27 Jul 1844; married Celestia A. Frost; Albert Tyler, born 10 Mar 1846; married Mary A. Harnill; Hadyn Webster, born 23 Dec 1849; Julia Amanda, born June 12, 1852; Otis George Fred, born Dec 22, 1854; died 27 Oct 1801.
iv.	Otis Whitney, born 13 Jun 1821; married Harriett N. Barnes.
v.	Martha Whitney, born 15 Jun 1823; resided Geneva, New York.
