Sewell7 Whitney (Jonathan6, (prob.) Jonathan5, Samuel4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Jonathan6, Jr., and Deborah (Higgins) Whitney, was born 10 Jul 1806, Lisbon, ME,[1] and died 7 Jul 1857, ME. Both he and his wife are buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Corinth, ME.

He married Lucinda "Lucy" Craig, daughter of Samuel and Esther (-----) Craig. She was born 16 Nov 1802, Kenduskeag, ME, and died 7 Jul 1890. She married secondly, 14 Oct 1860, Corinth, ME, Joseph Johnson, "both of Corinth".[2]

i. Sarah J.8 Whitney, b. ca. 1822; d. 2 Dec 1912, Defiance, OH; m. 21 Jun 1844, Bangor, ME, James L. Keezer.
ii. Zubia Ann Whitney, b. ca. 1821; d. 1896, Penobscot Co., ME; m. ca. 1841, ME, Samuel Bean. She is also alleged to be a daughter of his brother Amos.
iii. George Henry Whitney, b. ca. 1824; m. Melissa Ann Carson.
iv. Jonathan S. Whitney, b. 18 Jan 1828; m. Mary Elsie Cates. He was a veteran of the Civil War.
v. Alonzo Whitney, b. 6 Mar 1833, Hudson, ME; d. 28 Jun 1877, East Corinth, ME; m. Ann E. Miles.
vi. Willard Harrison Whitney, b. 14 Jun 1835, East Corinth, ME; d. 1 Dec 1905; m. 24 May 1864, Clarra Lawrence.
vii. Lorania M. Whitney, b. 22 Apr 1838, Kenduskeag, ME; d. 22 Mar 1921; m. Ellis Cushman.
viii. Arietta Elizabeth Whitney, b. 1839, Kenduskeag, ME; m. 9 Jul 1856, Penobscot Co., ME, Andrew Jackson Quimby.
