James Odell9 Whitney (Samuel H.8, (Stephen7, Samuel6, Abner5, John4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of Samuel H.8 and Allura H. (Preston) Whitney, was born about 1863, Salem, ME.

He married 16 Jun 1896, Nashua, NH , Harriet Ingham, daughter of George and Ann (Beaumont) Ingham of Bristol, England. She was born 14 Nov 1876, Bristol, England, and died 21 Feb 1938, Derry, NH. She married secondly, Derry, NH, 22 Feb 1923, George Manuel. She was buried in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem, MA.

i. Dorothy Allura10 Whitney, b. 14 Aug 1897, Nashua, NH; m. Carl Henry Tewksbury, 20 Dec 1919 in Derry, NH. He was b. 31 Mar 1894 in Derry, NH, the son of Alfred R. and Fanny (MacSpears) Tewksbury. He was a World War I veteran, and d. 20 May 1970. He is buried at Pine Grove Cemetery, Kingston, NH.
ii. Casper Elmer Whitney, b. 2 Oct 1898, Nashua, NH; d. Jul 1968. He resided in Minneapolis and Edina, MN.
iii. Charles Henry Whitney, b. 4 Jan 1900, Keene, NH; d. 27 Jan 1900, Keene, NH.
iv. Parker Odell Whitney, b. 17 feb 1905, Nashua, NH; d. 7 Dec 1993, last residing in Derry, NH. He m. Celia H. Gardner, 3 Sept 1928 at Springfield, NH. She was b. abt. 1902 in New London, NH, the dau. of Guy H. and Cora (Cutter) Gardner.
v. Henry P. Whitney, b. 11 Oct 1906, Londonderry, NH; d. 8 Nov 1996, Beverly, MA. He m. Myrtle Emery Corey, 10 Jun 1934 in Derry, NH. She was b. 26 Sept 1907, Springfield, MA, the dau. of Forrest F. and Luella A. (Lloyd) Corey. She d. 16 Jan 2001, Danvers, MA.
