Esau7 Whitney (Ezra6, Ezra5, John4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of Ezra6 and Sally (Hooker) Whitney, was born 21 Aug 1796 in Rockingham Township, Windham Co, VT, and died Aug 1869, Princeton, MN.

He married, sometime perhaps before 1822, Esther -----. She was born about 1796, VT, died 20 Aug 1850, Burns, NY, aged 53 years 8 months 23 days. She was buried in the Canaseraga Cemetery, Burns, NY.

He moved with his parents and siblings from the family home in Vermont to Allegany County, NY, in 1817.

In 1830, Esau Whitney and his family were enumerated in Burns Township, Allegany Co, NY. The family consisted of 1 male 30-40 [Esau], 1 male 0-5 [Esau Jr], 1 female 30-40 [Esther], 2 females 5-10 [Unknown, Vienna], and 3 females 0-5 [Mary, Martha, Esther].

In 1840, Esau Whitney and his family were enumerated in Burns Township, Allegany Co, NY. The family consisted of 1 male 40-50 [Esau], 1 male 10-15 [Esau Jr], 1 male 5-10 [Benjamin], 3 females 15-20 [unknown, Vienna, Mary], 1 female 10-15 [Martha], 2 females 5-10 [Esther, unknown], and 1 female 0-5 [Melinda]. Four people were engaged in agriculture.
