He married firstly, 13 Mar 1853, Westminster, MA, Sarah J. Tolman "of Ashburnham", daughter of Calvin and Mary Whitney (Bowers) Tolman.^[3] She was born 7 Mar 1830, Troy, NH, and died 29 Mar 1875, Westminster, MA, aged 45 years 22 days, of consumption, housekeeper, residing Keene, NH.^[4] She was buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Keene, NH.^[5]

He married secondly, 19 Jan 1876, Keene, NH, Lura Lind Nims,^[6] daughter of John Taylor Gilman and Charlotte (Stone) Nims. She was born 6 Nov 1850, Keene or Roxbury, NH, and died 2 Apr 1917, Keene, NH. She was buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Keene, NH.^[7]
