George Washington7 Whitney (Lyman6, Samuel5, Eliakim4, Nathan3, John2, Henry1), son of Lyman6 and Melissa (Taylor) Whitney, was born 16 Apr 1820, Richmond, NY, and died after 1874.
He married, 25 Mar 1858, Royalton Center, NY, Matilda Ann Wright, daughter of Timothy Hill and Abigail Tucker (Wright) Wright. She was born 19 Mar 1834, Bergen, NY, and died after 1874.
Phoenix says the following:
- ". . . a farmer . . . . They dwelt at Carleton, N.Y., till 1862; and then settled at Royalton, where they were living in 1874."
Children of George Washington7 and Matilda Ann (Wright) Whitney, all born Royalton Centre, NY:
i. Julia Elizabeth8 Whitney, b. 7 Sep 1859. ii. Ellen Whitney, b. 5 Aug 1862 (twin). iii. Edwin Whitney, b. 5 Aug 1862 (twin); d. 12 Sep 1865, Royalton Centre, NY, where he was buried in Mountain Ridge Cemetery. iv. Melissa Whitney, b. 22 Dec 1864.
