Lyman8 Whitney (James7, John6, James5, James4, John3, Jonathan2, John1), son of James7 and Lois (Blodgett) Whitney, was born 1 Jun 1808, Sherborn, MA,[1] and died 1 Aug 1880, Sherborn, MA, aged 72 years 2 months, of enlargement of prostate gland, farmer.[2]

He married firstly, 25 Mar 1841, Sherborn, MA, Mary Leland,[3] daughter of Daniel and Rachel (Partridge) Leland. She was born 25 Aug 1815, Sherborn, MA, and died 13 Nov 1855, Sherborn, MA, aged 40 years 2 months 28 days, of typhoid fever.[4]

He "of Sherborn" married secondly, 27 Nov 1856, Sherborn, MA, Pamelia Orne Senter "of Malden", daughter of Edward and Melinda (Cowdrey) Senter.[5] She was born 3 Oct 1813, Plymouth, NH, and died 1 May 1895, Sherborn, MA, aged 81 years 6 months, of senile gangrene.[6]

He was selectman 1852-53-54; was a farmer. He resided Sherborn, MA.
