Nathaniel4 Whitney (Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Nathaniel3 and Sarah (Ford) Whitney, was born 12 Dec 1709, York, ME,[1] and died 1804.
Nathaniel married, 3 Jan 1733/4, Wells, ME, Hannah Day, daughter of Joseph and Patience (Hilton) Day. She was born 8 Aug 1714, Gloucester, MA.
Pierce says the following:[2]
- He was a native of York, Me., and one of the first settlers in Gorham. Was an elder in the church and a prominent and influential citizen, and much employed in town affairs, and a leader in religious matters. He was many times on important committees in the Revolutionary days. He was a man of unquestioned integrity. Abel and Nathaniel WHITNEY witnessed will of Elias PERRY, at York, in 1735.
Pierce conflates him and his brother Nathan4 Whitney.

Moses Whitney; b. 17 Mar 1739, Biddeford, ME; d. 12 Apr 1820, Harrison, ME; m.(1) Susanna Crockett; m.(2) Mary Page; m.(3) Abigail Skillings. iv. Nathan Whitney; b. 1740. v. Aaron Whitney; b. 7 Jun 1741, Biddeford, ME; d. 19 Jun 1815, Alfred, ME. vi. Miriam Whitney; b. 15 Jan 1742/3, Biddeford, Maine vii. Tabitha Whitney; b. 25 May 1746, Kittery, ME; d. 13 Sep 1831, Gorham, ME; m. John Watson. viii. Patience Whitney; b. 11 May 1748, Biddeford, ME; m.(1) Edward Thomas; m.(2) Coleman Phinney Watson. ix.
