Christopher Atwood6 Whitney (Jacob5, Benjamin4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Jacob5 and Hannah (Mills) Whitney; born 3 Apr 1793, at Phillips, Maine; married there 1 Jun 1823, Adeline Howard; born 1803; died 1883, near Black River Falls, Wisconsin. He was in the war of 1812; resided Phillips until 1866, then moved to Greenfield. He died at Tomah, Wisconsin, Age 23, 1869; resided Phillips, Maine, and Greenfield, Wisconsin.

i. Rufus Greenlief7 Whitney, b. 17 Nov 1823, Phillips, ME, resided Cambridge, Maine.
ii. Samuel Whitney, b. 11 Jan 1826, Phillips, ME, resided Phillips, Maine.
iii. Benjamin Whitney, born 2 Apr 1828, Phillips, ME; married Huldah Whitney.
iv. Daniel Whitney, b. 30 Dec 1830, Phillips, ME.
v. Louisa J. Whitney, b. 10 Mar 1836, Phillips, ME.
vi. Naoma S. Whitney, b. 10 Mar 1840, Phillips, ME, Pierce lists her as "Naomi Whitney", married George Prescott; son Albert resided Tomah, Wisconsin.
vii. Atwood Whitney, b. 4 Dec 1843, Phillips, ME.
viii. Luzetta Whitney, b. 16 May 1846, Phillips, ME. Pierce lists her as "Lucette Whitney".
