William Lebbeus7 Whitney (Lebbeus6, James Rex5, Caleb4, William3, Joshua2, John1), son of Lebbeus6 and Elizabeth (Ford) Whitney, was born 16 Jan 1823, Philadelphia, PA, and died after 1880.
He married firstly, 19 Dec 1850, Ann Templin Potts. She was born 21 Apr 1827, and died 19 Sep 1854.
He married secondly, 2 Oct 1862, Emma St. Clair Nichols. She was born 26 Sep 1840, and died after 1880.
William Lebbeus Whitney was born in Philadelphia, educated at the public schools, and entering Dickinson College, was graduated in 1843. He taught school at Port Gibson, MS, in 1844, clerk in Miners' Bank at Pottsville in 1847, and was, in 1850, admitted to the bar. In 1870 he was selected cashier of the Miners' Bank, and in 1882 was elected president; resided Pottsville, PA.
