Remington Hobby Whitney, probably son of Stephen and Ruth (Boody) Whitney, was born 26 Dec 1801, Portland, ME, and died 29 Jun 1890, Burr Oak, Saint Joseph Co., MI.
He married, firstly, Eliza Weaver. She died 28 Apr 1834, probably near Avon, Livingston Co., NY. She was the daughter of Daniel Wing and Amy (Underhill) Weaver.
He married, secondly, circa 1835, Rhoda Content Chapman. She was born 31 Mar 1817, Perry Township, Genesee Co., NY, and died 23 Mar 1901, Quincy, Branch Co., MI.
Remington purchased land in Burr Oak, Saint Joseph Co., MI in 1837 and moved there.
