Family:Whitney, Lyman (1808-1880)

Lyman⁸ Whitney (James⁷, John⁶, James⁵, James⁴, John³, Jonathan², John¹), son of James⁷ and Lois (Blodgett) Whitney, was born 1 Jun 1808, Sherborn, MA,^[1] and died 1 Aug 1880, Sherborn, MA, aged 72 years 2 months, of enlargement of prostate gland, farmer.^[2]

He married firstly, 25 Mar 1841, Sherborn, MA, Mary Leland,^[3] daughter of Daniel and Rachel (Partridge) Leland. She was born 25 Aug 1815, Sherborn, MA, and died 13 Nov 1855, Sherborn, MA, aged 40 years 2 months 28 days, of typhoid fever.^[4]

He "of Sherborn" married secondly, 27 Nov 1856, Sherborn, MA, Pamelia Orne Senter "of Malden", daughter of Edward and Melinda (Cowdrey) Senter.^[5] She was born 3 Oct 1813, Plymouth, NH, and died 1 May 1895, Sherborn, MA, aged 81 years 6 months, of senile gangrene.^[6]

He was selectman 1852-53-54; was a farmer. He resided Sherborn, MA.

iii.	Daniel Leland Whitney, b. 20 Nov 1845, Sherborn, MA;[9] m. Abigail Barrett.
iv.	George Lyman Whitney, b. 21 Aug 1848, Sherborn, MA;[10] m. Martha A. Fleming.

Lyman⁸ and Pamelia Orne (Senter) Whitney had no known children.
