My sister and I are researching our Whitney line. Our gg grandfather was Timothy Watts Whitney, b. Dec 5, 1827 in Weston, VT. We recently learned that our ggg grandfather was Jacob Whitney of Weston, VT. He married Polly Watts, Jan 11, 1821.

The "Genealogies of the Early Settlers of Weston, Vermont" have Jacob's parents as Richard Whitney and Sarah Holt (2nd wife) and that Richard was the son of Richard Whitney and Sarah Butterfield.

We are looking for Jacob Whitney's birth date, and confirmation that he fits into the following lineage:

(Jacob-7, Richard-6, Richard-5, Israel-4, Ebenezer-3, Richard-2, John-1)

Records in Weston indicate that Jacob Whitney and Polly Watts had three children. Hugh H. (1823), Timothy (1827) and Caroline L. (1830) Jacob died Mar 24, 1833 in Weston, VT.
