Ephraim7 Whitney (Ephraim6, Nathaniel5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), born Upton, Massachusetts, 13 May 1756; married in Grafton, 1 Oct 1778, Jemima Whipple; born in Grafton, 1753; died in Upton, 1795; married 2d, 4 Jun 1795, Joanna Sadler; died May 2, 1839.

He was born in Upton, worked on his father's farm, and at his death came into possession of one-half of it. He served as a soldier in the Upton Company, commanded by Capt. Woods, in the Revolutionary war. Was an honorable and genial man. He was much given to story telling, especially of the war, of which he had a great memory. He died 29 Sep 1827; resided Upton, Massachusetts.

ii. Daniel Whitney, born 11 Sep 1781; died 2 Mar 1796.
iii. Lydia Whitney, born 10 Dec 1783; married John Rockwood. She died 16 Oct 1862.
Ch.: Emily, born 17 May 1805; married 25 Dec 1826, Elijah Forbush. She died 3 Nov 1840, and he married 2d, Olive Adams: resided Upton, Massachusetts; Deborah, born 1807; married John Pickett; Gregory S., born 1811; married Silence Brown.
iv. Moses Whitney, born 31 Aug 1786; married Susannah Hall.
v. Sophia Whitney, born 25 Aug 1789; married Elias Warfield. She died 27 Jan 1859.

vi. Chole Whitney, born 14 Oct 1791; died unm. 2 Nov 1867, in Upton.
vii. Jemima Whitney, born 6 Jan 1795; married Francis Hapgood. She died Aug. 14, 1848. She was his second wife and died s. p.; by his first wife, Dorcas Willis, he had Gilbert, Salome, Hannah, Jonathan, Sarah, Samuel, Martha, Robert, Olive Mason and Francis.
