Tolbert Whitney, parentage unknown, was born 1833, MO, and died a1860, MO.

He married before 1852, Emily -----. She was born 1838, MO, and died after 1870, probably NE.

Notes

Perhaps Tolbert is the son of Joseph Whitney of Sugar Creek, Barry County, MO, his next door neighbor in 1860. He may also be closely related to Wade H. Whitney of MO and NE as one of his son's name is Wade.

Tolbert is 27 years old in the 1860 Sugar Creek Twp., Barry Co., MO. Birth year was stated previous this edit as 1823.

There seems to be quite a dilemma here. If Emily was born in 1838, that would make her 14 years old when she gave birth to her first child. I think her birth year is wrong, which is common.
