Merrill7 Whitney (Edmund6, Isaac5, Isaac4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Edmund6 and Martha (Meserve) Whitney, was born 25 Feb 1816, Gorham, ME, and died 24 Jan 1888, Saco, ME.
He married, 16 Apr 1843, Lowell, MA, Zebia A. Kollock "both of Lowell",[1] daughter of Ebenezer and Mary (-----) Kollock. She was born about 1815, Westbrook, ME, and died 1 Aug 1845, Lowell, MA, aged 30 years, of puerperal fever.[2]

i. Alonzo A. Miner8 Whitney, b. 18 Jul 1845, Lowell, MA,[3] d. 13 Dec 1862, Fredericksburg, VA. He enlisted from Gorham in 1862, in 16th Maine Volunteers, and was killed at Fredericksburg, VA on 13 Dec 1862.
