Perez Whitney (James, [poss.] Isaac4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of James and Deborah (Murch) Whitney, was born 2 May 1795, Cumberland, ME, and died 12 May 1853, North Yarmouth, ME, aged 58 years.
He married, 18 Mar 1824, Cumberland, ME, Mary Newcomb. She was born about 1801, and died 27 Oct 1856, North Yarmouth, ME, aged 55 years. Both are buried in the Morrison's Hill (Universalist) Cemetery, West Cumberland, ME.

Sarah Jane Whitney, b. 19 Jan 1835, Cumberland, ME; m. 29 Oct 1853, Cumberland, ME, Daniel M. Small. v. Benjamin Whitney, b. 20 May 1839, Cumberland, ME. (Note: there is a Benjamin Whitney buried in the Universalist Cemetery, Cumberland, ME. He d. 8 Aug 1861 aged 31 years 6 months, making him b. Feb 1830. He is buried with his wife Jane Whitney, who d. 9 Dec 1876, aged 33 years 9 months, making her b. Mar 1843. Buried with them is their daughter Mary Alice, who d. 19 Apr 1867, age 1 year 8 months. This may be the same Benjamin Whitney.) vi. Charles H. Whitney, b. 13 Sep 1846, Cumberland, ME; d. after 1860.
