Samuel married before 10 Dec 1742, Grace -----.[4] She was born say 1717, and died 6 Jun 1763.[5]
On 15 Nov 1755, Lancaster, MA, marriage intentions for her "of Harvard" and Josiah Houghton "of Lancaster" were published.[6] On 22 Nov 1755, Harvard, MA, marriage intentions for her and Josiah Houghton "of Lancaster" were published.[7] She married 6 Jan 1756, Lancaster, MA, Josiah Houghton.[8] No marriage record is found in Stow, but her husband was born there and child Samuel was born there.
His estate was probated 31 Oct 1748 at Stow, MA; inventory taken by Ebenzer Graves, Oliver Sheril[?], and Peter Graves; his estate was probated 31 Oct 1748 at Stow, MA; administration granted to widow Grace Whitney of Stow, with Peter Graves and David Ran[?] of Stow as sureties; his estate was probated 19 Dec 1763 at Stow, MA; administration granted to Josiah Houghton of Lancaster; mention is made of the widow Grace and "the children" on 29 Dec 1763.
