Family:Whitney, Nelson (1812-1887)

Rev. Nelson⁷ Whitney (John⁶, Asa⁵, Nathan⁴, Nathaniel³, Benjamin², John¹), son of John⁶ and Hannah (Rich) Whitney, was born 1812, Thorndike, ME.

He "of Poughkeepsie, N.Y." married, 17 May 1840, Lowell, MA, Dorothy Dwelley "of Lowell".^[1]

He resided Newport and Stillwater, ME. He was a clergyman serving in Calais, ME, in 1856 and 1857; Unity, ME, in 1866-1868; and Sebec, ME, in 1871.
