Frederick Lamson Whitney (Pascal,Luther,Samuel,Jospeh,Timothy,John,John.John), was born 20 Oct 1873, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa, and died 27 Oct 1960, Santa Ana, Orange, CA.

He married 1907, , Cordelia S. Brown, daughter of Loren S. and Mary (Babcock) Brown. She was born 25 Mar 1879, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa, and died Apr 1976, Garden City, Ks..

They lived in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Colorado before retiring to California.


Frederick was a student at Iowa State University in Ames and later the University of Chicago, where he received his Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts Degree. He later received a degree as Doctor of Psychology from the University of Minnesota. Earlier in 1900, he was principal of the Osage (Ia) Elementary School. He retired in 1942 after serving as Director of the Graduate School and Research Dept. of the Colorado State Teachers College in Greeley. He wrote over 200 articles, bulletins and books covering various phases in the field of Education. Mosted noted for his book "Elements of Research", which was transcribed in Spanish.

They are buried in the Osage (Ia) Cemetery.
