John Richard⁷ Whitney (Francis Rowland⁶, Elias⁵, Jeremiah⁴, Nathan³, John², Henry¹), son of Francis Rowland⁶ and Mary Ann (Robinson) Whitney, was born 25 Oct 1848, Poughkeepsie, NY.

He married, 30 Dec 1879, Castleton, VT, Jane Phoebe Parsons, both of Castleton, VT, daughter of Franklin and Chloe (Jordan) Parsons.^[1]
