Francis Whipple9 Whitney (Barzillai J.8, William Knowlton7, John Smith6, Thomas5, Thomas4, Eleazer3, Thomas2, John1), son of Barzillai J.8 and Eliza M. (Frye) Whitney, was born 14 Oct 1850, Athol, MA,[1] and died after 1887.

He married firstly, 23 Apr 1872, Athol, MA, Isabel B. Haven,[2] daughter of Jotham F. and Mary F. (Prouty) Haven. She was born 23 May 1853, Athol, MA.[3]

He married secondly, 26 May 1887, Athol, MA, Charlott J. Dennis,[4] daughter of George and Louisa (Sanderson) Dennis. She was born 23 Dec 1853, Athol, MA.[5]

They resided Athol, MA.

Notes

In 1880, he is reported as single, when it should be either married or widowed. No death record is found for Isabel B. (Haven) Whitney. Nevertheless, at his marriage to Charlott, it is called his second. Both marriage records correctly identify his parents.
