He married 11 Jan 1821, Weston, VT, Polly Watts, daughter of . She was born 13 Feb 1803, Weston, VT, and died 26 May 1884, Weston, VT.
After Jacob's death, Polly married Daniel Foster.

i. Hugh Henry8 Whitney, b. Abt 1823, Weston, VT, d. 8 Mar 1890, Tombstone, AZ. He went by H.H. or Hugh but some later sources have Henry Hugh or Henry H. ii. Timothy Watts Whitney, b. 5 Dec 1827, Weston, VT, d. 29 Feb 1904, Waterford, PA. iii. Caroline L. Whitney, b. 24 Apr 1830, Weston, VT, d. 29 Dec 1869, Weston, VT.
