Daniel Whitney, parentage not proven, but probably a son of Joshua and Dorothy (Knowlton) Whitney, was born say 1782, and died after 1810.

Marriage intentions were published 6 Nov 1803, Belchertown, MA, for him and Eleanor Vince. She may be the Alliner Vince, daughter of Moses and Anne (Tucker) Vince, born 24 Aug 1782, Wrentham, MA.

i.	Silas Whitney, b. ca. 11 Apr 1804, Belchertown, MA; d. 10 Jun 1890, Belchertown, MA, aged 86 yrs 1 month 30 days, married, farmer, b. Belchertown, parents Daniel & Elinor Whitney, died of old age, buried Belchertown; m. Electa Wood.
ii.	(son) Whitney, b. say 1807, Belchertown, MA; deduced from 1810 census.
