Daniel H.⁸ Whitney (Cheeney⁷, Nathan⁶, Jonathan⁵, Jonathan⁴, Jonathan³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Cheeney⁷ and Olive (Colwell) Whitney; born Seneca Castle, New York, 19 Oct 1819; married 15 May 1850, Susannah DeGraff, born 6 Jan 1830; died 21 Dec 1851; married 2d, 7 Jun 1855, Martha Van Gelder, born 31 Aug 1834; died 26 Oct 1876; married 3d, 4 Mar 1881, Sarah Van Gelder, born Feb. 28, 1832; resided Seneca Castle, New York.

Children of Daniel H.⁸ and Martha Van (Gelder) Whitney:

i.	Clara A.9 Whitney, born 6 Mar 1856; married 5 Sep 1977, Charles S. Bond; resided Luverne, Minnesota Ch.: Claude H., born 11 Jan 1883; Carrie E., born 8 Apr 1886.
ii.	Hattie Whitney, born 31 Dec 1862; died 13 Nov 1863.
iii.	Mabel A. Whitney, born 9 Jun 1868.
