Ebenezer R.6 Whitney (George5, Jason4, Mark3, Benjamin2, John1), son of George5 and Esther (Morse) Whitney, was born 20 Dec 1820, Natick, MA,[1] and died 2 May 1892, Natick, MA.[2]

Marriage intentions were published 27 Feb 1842, Newton, MA, for him and Sarah F. Leighton.[3] He "of Newton" married, 21 Mar 1842, Sarah F. Leighton,[4] of Westford, daughter of Francis and Mary (Read) Leighton. She was born 25 Feb 1824, Danvers, MA, and died 26 Apr 1904, Natick, MA, aged 85 years 2 months, of cerebral hemorrhage [sic: actually 80 years 2 months 1 day--RLW].[5]

He was a cordwainer, shoe manufacturer and merchant. He resided Danvers and Natick, MA.

i. Samuel S.7 Whitney, b. 21 Aug 1843, Dedham, MA;[6] d. 15 Jul 1844, Natick, MA, aged 1 year.[7]
ii. Emily Ann Whitney, b. 12 Jan 1846, MA; m. 19 May 1869, James M. Forbush. He was b. Roxbury, MA, 15 Mar 1846; resided Natick, MA. He was educated at the common schools, and in 1861 moved to Washington with his father's family. While there, was a clerk in the Treasury Department until 1867. After 1874 was in the Internal Revenue service in Massachusetts, and at present is in the insurance business in Natick. Is general agent for the New England States for the German American Insurance Company, of New York. Is director in an insurance company, trustee of a savings bank, and superintendent of the Baptist Sunday School. (See Forbush Genealogy by Fred C. Pierce, p. 15.)
