Hoyt, rector of St. Stephen's (Episcopal) Church, to Elizabeth Smith, dau. of Gamaliel and Polly (Northrop) Smith, of Ridgefield, where she was born 17 June 1821. They settled at Carmel, N. Y. He died there, 15 Ap. 1874, and was buried in Titicus Cemetery, at Ridgefield. She returned to Ridgefield in Sept. 1874, and was living there in Aug. 1877. 12838

10119a I. John Henry Barlow, b. at Ridgefield, Conn., 7 Nov. 1832; married at Newtown, Conn., 13 May 1861, Emeline Gilbert, dau. of George and Julia Ann Gilbert. She died 25 Oct. 1875. He married (2d), 29 May 1877, Lina Ells, dau. of Edwin and Mary Ann Ells, of Ansonia, Conn. They were living at Birmingham, Conn., in Aug. 1877. 17468
10119b II. David Edson Barlow, b. at Ridgefield, Conn., 1 Dec. 1834; died at Sing Sing, N. Y., unmarried, 20 Feb. 1864, and was buried at Birmingham, Conn.
10119c III. Mary Elizabeth Barlow, b. at Ridgefield, Conn., 30 Sept 1837; died at Birmingham, Conn., unmarried, 13 Aug. 1869, and was buried there.
10119d IV. Morris Keeler Barlow, b. at Ridgefield, Conn., 1 March 1843; died at Birmingham, Conn., 6 June 1852, and was buried there.

10120 I. ----- Whitney, married Julius Wechselberg; and was living at 216 Fourteenth Street, Milwaukee, Wis., in Ap. 1875.
10121 II. Walter Robert Whitney, served in Co. B, 1st Reg., Wis. Volunteers, and in Co. L, 1st Wis. Artillery; and was living at Milwaukee, Wis., in 1875.
  1 DAVID SCOTT BARLOW, 3728a, b. at Ridgefield, Conn., 19 May 1809; a blacksmith; dwelt at Ridgefield till Oct. 1849, then settled at Birmingham, Conn., where he died 6 Nov. 1862, and was buried in Birmingham Cemetery. His widow was living at Birmingham in Aug. 1877.

    His father, John BARLOW, No.1128, was born at Fairfield, Conn., though his birth was recorded at Ridgefield. He was a blacksmith, and died at Ridgefield 14 Oct. 1848.
    His grandfather, John BARLOW, who married Sarah Whitney, No.286, may have been the same who was born at Fairfield, Conn., 21 Feb. 1746-1747, son of Jabez and Elizabeth (Hunt) Barlow.
