and Sarah (Underhill) Lyon, of North Salem, where she was born, 16 March 1798. They settled in Somers, N. Y., and died there (he, of cholera, 9 Aug. 1832; she, 23 Aug. 1840), and were buried in Somers Cemetery.
1781 II. Irena Riggs, b. in North Salem, N. Y., 18 Ap. 1796; married, 1 Nov. 1823, at North Salem, Henry Canfield, a blacksmith, son of Josiah and Abigail (Sanford) Canfield, of Reading, Conn., where he was born, 26 Oct 1799. They settled at Weston, Conn., and were living there in Dec. 1874, without children.
1782 III. Josiah Anson Riggs, b. at Salem Centre, in North Salem, N. Y., 13 June 1799; a mason and plasterer; married in 1821, at Beekman, N. Y., Hester Ann Martin, dau. of Thomas and Lydia (Tidd) Martin,1 of Beekman, where she was born, 12 Feb. 1802. They dwelt in Beekman, Fishkill, Poughkeepsie, and perhaps in other parts of Dutchess County, spending most of their lives in that county. She died in Poughkeepsie, 17 March 1870. He died at the house of his daughter, Mrs. Catharine Elizabeth (Riggs) Rundell, at Highland Falls, N. Y., 18 Aug. 1874. They were buried in Riverside Cemetery, Poughkeepsie. 5753
1783 IV. Henry Riggs, b. in North Salem, N. Y., 28 Nov. 1802; a tailor and mason; married Harriet Gray, dau. of, Benjamin Bulkley and Matilda (Baxter) Gray. She was horn at North Salem, 25 Oct 1812; died, without children, 16 May 1860, at. North Salem; and was buried there. He married (2d), Charlotte Baxter, dau. of Marcus and Abby (Truesdell) Baxter. He died, without children, 5 Ap. 1873, at North Salem (where his widow was living, in Oct. 1876), and was buried there. 2939
1784 V. Horace Riggs, b. at North Salem, N. Y., 25 July 1806; a mason; married in Fishkill, N. Y., Caroline Martin, dau. of Thomas and Lydia (Tidd) Martin, of East Fishkill. She died, 25 Oct 1835, and was buried at Green Haven, in Beekman, N. Y. He moved to Kent, N. Y., where he married Julia Surine, who has refused to give any account of herself or parents. They settled at Matteawan, N. Y., and. were living there, in Jan. 1875, without children.

1785 I. Samuel Riggs, b. in Ridgefield, Conn., 20 May 1785; a teacher; dwelt in Ridgefield till 1809, then moved to: Dutchess Co., N. Y., and married at Fishkill, 16 Jan. 1811, Elizabeth Haight, dau. of Beverly and 5767
  1 Thomas Martin served in the war, or 1812, and his father, Thomas Martin, in the war of the Revolution.
