They settled at Ridgefield, Conn. He enlisted there, 11 Aug.. 1863, in Co. G, 17th Reg., Conn. Vol. Infantry; was wounded in the side, at the battle of Gettysburgh; and discharged, 19 July 1865, at Hilton Head, S. C. He married (2d) Amanda Foster. They settled at South Norwalk, Conn., where he died from his wound, 21 March 1867, and was buried in the Norwalk Cemetery. She was living at South Norwalk in Nov. 1874.

VI. Smith Keeler, b. at Ridgefield, Conn., 21 Sept. 1835; a shoemaker; married Mary Hallett, of Whitlockville, N. Y., sister of Benjamin Hallett. He was living at Albina, formerly Willow Springs, Mo., in Nov. 1874, and was constable of the town.

VIII. Anna Augusta Keeler, b. at Bedford, N. Y., 4 June 1838; married in the Autumn of 1852, at her father's house in Whitlockville, N. Y., William Beckwith, a shoemaker, who was born in England, son of William Beckwith. She married (2d), 17 Aug. 1865, at Golden's Bridge, N. Y., Sylvester Williams, a farmer who was born at Ridgefield, Conn., 1 Ap. 1833, son of Zadok and Polly (Bennett) Williams. See his record.

I. Hiram Burr Hoyt, b. at Ridgefield, Conn., 17 Dec. 1830; a dealer in hardware; married at South Hero, Vt., 22 Feb. 1854, by Rev. O. G. Wheeler, Congregational, to Juliette Kent, dau. of Helmer and Semantha (Fletcher) Kent, of South Hero, where she was born 7 Sept. 1832. They settled at West Union, Iowa, and were living there in Jan. 1875.
