Family:Whitney, Alvin James (1847-1914)

Alvin James⁸ Whitney (Lorenzo Dow⁷, Ira⁶, Hezekiah⁵, Hezekiah⁴, Joseph³, John², Henry¹), son of Lorenzo Dow⁷ and Melinda (Reynolds) Whitney, was born 14 Oct 1847, Fletcher, VT, and died 1914, Eden, VT. He was buried in Eden Cemetery, Eden, VT.^[1]

He married firstly, 11 Aug 1867, Morristown, VT, (also recorded in Hyde Park, VT) Charlotte Brown Fisher,^[2] daughter of Abraham and Maria (-----) Fisher. She was born about 1849, Glover, VT, and died before 1875.

He married secondly, 10 Aug 1875, Derby, VT, Lizzie E. Scribner,^[3] daughter of William and Martha (Adams) Scribner. She was born Dec 1855, Johnson, VT, and died 1916. She was buried in Eden Cemetery, Eden, VT.^[4]

He served in the war of 1861, Co. F, 8th Vermont Infantry. They were living at Belvidere, VT, in 1874.
