Benjamin Franklin⁷ Whitney (Rufus⁵, [prob.] Joshua⁴, Cornelius³, Joshua², John¹), son of Rufus⁶ and Laura (Hatch) Whitney, was born 27 Sep 1835, Wyoming Co., NY, and died 4 Apr 1867, Gainesville, NY.

He married, either 30 Jul 1859, or about 10 Mar 1860, Leroy, NY, Amanda Malvina Holmes, daughter of John T. and Harriet (-----) Holmes. She was born 23 Jan 1840, Portageville, NY, and died 7 Jun 1917, Batavia, NY.
