(Huntley) Whitney, was born 17 October 1861, Amboy, Oswego County, New York, died 21 April 1911, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, and was buried April 23, 1911, Lot 39 Section 1, Little Rock Township Cemetery, Plano, Kendall County, Illinois.[1][2]

Fred A. Whitney, for many years, a resident of Plano, and for the past few years a resident of Chicago died at the Alexian Bros. Hospital in Chicago Friday April 21 aged 49 years. The cause of his death was from a fall from a wagon on April 5th and afterwards exposure in the cold before he was taken to the hospital. In the fall, his leg was broken above the knee and pneumonia set in.
Fred was an expert wood worker and a congenial fellow among his fellow workers. He loved to come to Plano where his boyhood days were spent wandering through the woods and fishing here, and was out here only a few days before he was hurt.
The remains were taken to Hursen undertaking rooms on Madison St. where post motem was held and also an inquest held on Friday and Saturday. The funeral services were held at the chapel on Sunday and the remains brought to Plano at 10 o'clock where Rev. Meservey held services at the M. E. church at 10:30 am. The remains were buried in the family lot in the Plano cemetery.
Those who came out with the remains were Mr. & Mrs. Mark Whitney, George, Frank and son James. Mrs. John Daley from Chicago and Mrs. Ernest Smith of Geneva a cousin.
