Frederick L.9 Whitney (Edwin8, Dwelly7, Lemuel6, Josiah5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Edwin8 and Eliza Jane (Cross) Whitney, was born 20 Dec 1861, Ashby, MA,[1] and died 17 Jul 1904, Ashby, MA, aged 42 years 7 months, of pulmonary tuberculosis.[2]

He married firstly, 27 Aug 1885, Ashby, MA, or Ashburnham, MA [recorded Templeton, MA], Laura E. Curtis "of Templeton",[3] daughter of Levi C. and Maria (-----) Curtis. She was born about 1 Oct 1864, and died 13 Mar 1889, Ashburnham, MA, aged 24 years 5 months 12 days, of inflammation of the stomach.[4]

He married secondly, 24 Nov 1892, Readsboro, VT, Alta B. C. Bowen, daughter of Faxon Lorenzo and Celna Armeda C (Sherman) Bowen.[5] She was born 28 May 1871, Readsboro or Whitingham, VT. She married secondly, 5 Jan 1910, North Adams, MA, Leon Homer Shippee.[6]

He resided S. Ashburnham, MA. Children:
