John6 Whitney (Matthias5, Joshua4, Cornelius3, Joshua2, John1), son of Matthias5 and Dorcas (Vaughn) Whitney, born 7 Mar 1793, in Hancock, MA,[1] and died 8 May 1875, Hartland, MI. He was buried in Brighton Village Cemetery, Brighton, MI.[2]
He married, about 1815, Hancock, MA, Christiana Stafford. She was born 19 Nov 1793, Hancock, MA, and died 2 Mar 1873, Brighton, MI. She was buried in Brighton Village Cemetery, Brighton, MI.[3]
He was a civil enineer, which profession he followed with surveying. He was also an extensive farmer. Resided Hancock, MA.
