Family:Whitney, Jotham (c1801-1882)

Jotham7 Whitney (Eleazer6, Nathan5, Thomas4, Eleazar3, Thomas2, John1), son of Eleazer6 and Martha (Crozer) Whitney, was born about 1801, Halifax, VT, and died 3 Apr 1882, Charlemont, MA, aged 80 years, of paralysis, farmer, widower.[1]

He married firstly, 11 Mar 1821, Halifax, VT, Chloe Jones.[2] She was born about 1802, and died 12 Mar 1833, Ashfield, MA, aged 30 years.[3]

He married secondly, 8 Aug 1833, Guilford, VT, Angeline Jones,[4] daughter of Erastus and Sally (Clark) Jones of Buckland. She was born about 1813, Conway, MA, and died 23 Sep 1880, Charlemont, MA, aged 66, of heart disease.[5]

Children of Jotham7 and Chloe (Jones) Whitney, if any, unknown. None were in the family in the 1830 census.

xiii. Lucina Whitney, b. 30 Jun 1858, Charlemont, MA;[17] m. 18 Jan 1882, Charlemont, MA, George N. Cooper, of Dover, VT, b. ca. 1858, Dover, VT, son of M. P. and Clarinda (-----) Cooper.[18] By an unknown father she had the illegitimate child:

Notes

The names of his parents on his death record, Ebenezer and Jane (-----) Whitney, are wrong. He was an unrecorded son of Eleazer6 and Martha (Crozer) Whitney.[20]
