Early Whitneys of Monmouthshire
- The children of James Whitney (s1466-1500) probably resided at Troy House, Mitchel Troy, Monmouthshire after their father died and their mother remarried Sir William Herbert of Troy. One son, James Whitney (s1493-1544), died 1544 at Troy.
- Lewis Whitney, Gent., perhaps of Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, involved in a lawsuit in 1548
